Willetton Sports Club

Hi Everyone,

Last night the Board of Management of the Willetton Sports Club voted to place the Club into Voluntary Administration.

Our aim is to trade the Club through this period which we are quite confident this can be done.

I am planning to have a “Question and Answer” type meeting on the Thursday 6th October, 2011, 7.00 pm at the Club.

This meeting is not an official part of the administration process but an attempt by me to inform the club members of the process of administration, and what will be some of the issues that we will need to address in the short term.

This will be open for all Club Members to ask questions of me, the Board of Management and the Administrator.

There will be the opportunity to field ideas and suggestions.  The meeting will also give an opportunity for the Administrator and I to illustrate how the Club will be managed over the next month.

As most members will be aware I feel that the Willetton Sports Club has been pressured into this position by the actions of the City of Canning. I can understand the City’s request for audited figures however I have difficulty accepting both the timing and nature of the request.

While this is my opinion I feel that now we should work to resolve the issues as constructively as is possible to maximise the potential for a positive outcome for the Club.

I am hoping that attending this meeting will be both those with some of the answers and those of high profile that have supported the club in the past.

Pass this on to members that may not have e-mail access so that we get a real show of support to the club and in part a protest vote to the City of Canning.

The Bar will be open for members and their guests on the night.
